The legendary car designer Sergio Pininfarina has died at the age of 85.
At the time of his death, he was serving as honorary chairman at Pininfarina, the coachbuilding firm which was founded by his father, Batista Farina, in 1930. He took over the company after his father's death in 1966 and handed over management to his late son Andrea in 2006.
During Sergio's forty-year tenure, Pininfarina created some of the most beautiful cars ever made for some of the world's top marques. They also helped to pioneer innovations in car design which we now take for granted including opening Italy's first wind tunnel in 1972.
So, to celebrate the great man's life, we've drawn together a collection of Pininfarina's most illustrious models.
