SEAT’s blistering start to 2018 has seen it lay claim to the title of UK’s fastest-growing volume car brand.

The Barcelona-based brand bucked the trend of a declining UK new car market during the first months of this year, with year-to-date sales of SEAT’s up by 14%. SEAT now commands a 2.7% share of the UK new car market, up by almost 25% since the turn of the year.

The new Arona SUV has proved an instant hit, with almost a thousand sold in April alone, while the ever-popular SEAT Leon sold 2,150 units, up by 685 units compared to April 2017.

“Our latest sales success shows that we have created a truly desirable and accessible line-up of dynamic new cars that offers a great alternative to the traditional mainstream car brands”, said SEAT’s UK Director Richard Harrison. “ With a further new SUV to be unveiled later in the year, as well as the first CUPRA Ateca, we are on track to maintain this record-breaking performance.”
