Subaru have revealed the specification and pricing structure for the latest Outback range, which will go on UK sale from the 1st April.

The Subaru Outback has now spanned five generations since it was first launched in 1995, and the latest range will come onto the market priced from £27,995.

The new model comes with a choice of two engines; a 148bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel, or a 163bhp 2.5-litre petrol.  The former comes with either a 6-speed manual or Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT gearbox, while the petrol-powered models come with the Lineartronic transmission only.

Subaru say they have aimed for a subtle evolution in styling from the existing Outback, but with the front end noticeably remodelled in line with the rest of the current Subaru line up. An improved interior features a new range of infotainment and satnav systems, while other technological advances see the inclusion of Subaru’s EyeSight traffic collision avoidance system on all Lineartronic models. This employs a pair of forward facing colour cameras to detect and identify potential hazards before applying Pre-Collision Braking Control and Throttle Management.

The new Outback comes with two trim level options, SE and SE Premium.  SE trim includes automatic LED headlamps and headlamp washers, cruise control, Active Torque Vectoring, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, electrically-adjustable driver’s seat and privacy glass, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, satellite navigation, audio and smartphone connectivity and a rear view parking camera all as standard.

Petrol-powered SE models also feature an emissions-reducing Start/Stop system. The SE Premium trim adds a sunroof, keyless entry and push-button start, 18-inch alloy wheels, leather seats and a powered rear tailgate for added functionality.

The entry-level Outback 2.0D SE comes in at £27,995 on-the-road, with the range topping out at £31,495 for the 2.5i SE Premium Lineatronic model. The new Outback range will be available at Subaru dealerships from the start of April.
