Porsche owners are being targeted by criminals who are stealing their headlights to grow cannabis.

Yes, you read that correctly.

It seems that more than 20 Porsche Cayennes and Panameras in Amsterdam have had their high intensity discharge (HID) headlights stolen by a group of criminals who are using them to grow marijuana plants.

Apparently, Porsche headlights are perfect for growing wacky backy thanks to the light and heat they produce, combined with their relatively low energy demands.

What strikes us as odd about this story is that marijuana is legal in the Netherlands -- you can even buy it in coffee shops -- which begs the question: Why go to the bother of stealing a Porsche's headlights to grow something you can buy legally in the Dutch equivalent of Café Nero?

Luckily for British Porsche owners, no similar cases have been reported in the UK.
