Peugeot has announced the price of its new 208 GTi, which will cost £18,895 when order books open in March.
This makes the 208 GTi one of the more expensive models in its class, costing around £2,000 more than the recently unveiled Ford Fiesta ST but around £500 less than the Volkswagen Polo GTi.
The 208 GTi gets the same 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the MINI Cooper S, Peugeot RCZ and Citroen DS3 Racing, producing 197bhp. And thanks to a close-ratio six-speed gearbox, the Peugeot will go from 0-62mph in just 6.8 seconds.
Standard equipment will include 17-inch alloy wheels, a new grille, LED daytime-running lights, digital radio and rear parking sensors.
Production of the new Peugeot 208 GTi starts in April and the first deliveries begin in May.
