Nissan have celebrated the UK-built Juke's 5th birthday by creating a full-size origami model of the car.

It took artist Owen Gildersleeve over 200 hours and more than 2,000 pieces of paper to create the model, and after unveiling his creation he said: “This was a great project to work on – hard work but very rewarding. As a celebration piece it draws on so many influences, such as the origami focus inspired by Nissan’s Japanese roots.  Using so many individual pieces of paper to create the overall structure also represents the thousands of people who helped bring the Nissan Juke into reality and the thousands who continue to do so right here in the UK.”

Over 150,000 Nissan Jukes have been sold in the UK since deliveries commenced in October 2010, with over 700,000 sales in total across Europe. Nissan recently confirmed that the next generation of the Juke will also be produced at the company’s Sunderland plant as part of a £100million investment.
