Volkswagen is taking its new Passat on a UK-wide tour in a bid to woo business customers.

Starting on the 24th January in Aylesbury, the German manufacturer will embark on a 50-day road show designed to give small businesses and fleets the chance to see and experience the new model. The seventh generation of the Volkswagen Passat went on sale earlier this month with prices starting at £18,875 for the saloon model, and £20,175 for the estate.

The Passat has been a popular model in the UK for Volkwagen, with over 600,000 units sold since its introduction in 1973. The entry level of the new Passat range is powered by a 106bhp 1.6-litre TDI-engine, which returns a combined fuel economy 65.7 mpg and C02 emissions of 114g/km.

In addition to its sleek new look, the Volkswagen Passat is now fitted with sound deadening technology, including a windscreen made from sound insulating glass, that the manufacturer claims will make it one of the quietest cars in its class.

Volkswagen have also introduced some new options for the Passat, including air-conditioned seats, Automatic Distance Control which can automatically slow the car to halt when encountering traffic, and an automatic fatigue detection system which monitors driver inputs and automatically gives a visual and audio recommendation to take a break.

The new Passat's nationwide tour will take place at business parks across the UK, and will be staffed by trained Volkswagen representatives and staff from local dealerships. Advice and information will be provided on the new Passat regarding contract hire and finance packages, as well as on company car tax and BiK implications.

Refreshments will be available to visitors at the road show, who can find out information on dates and locations by calling 020 7258 4171.
