The first example of the latest generation Ford Fiesta has landed on UK soil.

The first new Fiesta to be unloaded at Dover docks was a five-door Titanium model bound for a dealership in Birmingham.

It is expected to be the first of many to arrive in the UK from Ford’s Cologne production plant in Germany as the Fiesta aims to looks to retain its place as the nation’s best-selling car. It’s predecessor found 1,000,000 buyers in the UK since launching in 2008, and Ford has sold 4,500,000 Fiestas since the car first arrived in 1976. A total of 120,000 Fiestas were registered in the past 12 months, with 70% in five-door form and 90% with petrol power.

Befitting the UK’s love affair with the Fiesta, red, white and blue are three of the four most popular colours. For the latest Fiesta model there new colours such as Chrome Copper, Blue Wave, and Bohai Mint green.
Other features of the new Ford Fiesta are high-tech systems including Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection. Zetec and Titanium models will arrive in showrooms this month, to be joined by the sporty ST-Line and luxurious Vignale trims early in the autumn.
