MINI drivers are being urged to put their wallet away the next time they visit the garage, after research conducted by the brand found over a quarter of MINI owners are failing to take advantage of its pre-paid maintenance packages.

The brand has launched a new website service for MINI owners to consult to see if their pre-paid TLC pack will cover the necessary servicing and maintenance, and avoid drivers effectively paying twice for the same work.

The £275 MINI TLC package is offered with all new cars and covers all servicing for the first five years or 50,000-miles of the cars life.  MINI claim 97% of new car buyers choose to take out MINI TLC cover, but that 26% of those are currently failing to take full advantage of the service, instead paying again at an independent garage.

The MINI TLC pack is transferable between owners and offers fixed-price, main-dealer servicing, and now comes with additional MOT Protect which will see MINI cover the cost of repair or replacement if the car fails its first, second, or third MOT.

“Our TLC servicing pack represents great value....but only if people use it.  We don’t like to see our customers waste their money”, said Richard Price, MINI Aftersales Director.

To tackle the issue, MINI has launched a new website to allow customer an easy way to check if they have any servicing credit left on their TLC pack and to access fixed-price servicing quotes - www.mini-service.co.uk
