Mercedes-Benz GLB details announced | New Release - Car News Aug 2019

The new Mercedes-Benz GLB has gone on UK sale priced from £34,200 on-the-road.

The entry-level model for the seven-seat GLB is the 200 Sport, powered by a 163bhp, four-cylinder petrol engine and a 7G-DCT gearbox. The GLB 200 Sport goes from 0-62 mph in a fraction over nine seconds, while returning up to 47.1 mpg combined and emissions from 138 g/km CO2.

The GLB 200 d model is powered by a 150bhp, 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and 8G-DCT transmission, and is available in either two or four-wheel drive. It does 0-62 mph in nine seconds flat, delivering up to 56.5 mpg combined and emitting 133 g/km of CO2.

Range-topping GLB 220 d 4MATIC model boast 190bhp, four-cylinder diesel engine, cutting 0-62mph time to 7.6 seconds. Fuel economy figures and emissions figures for this engine are 51.4 mpg combined and 146 g/km CO2 respectively.

Entry-level Sport models come as standard with 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, Dynamic Select with four driving modes, comfort suspension, LED headlights and tail lights, 180-degree reversing camera, aluminium roof rails, two-zone Thermotronic climate control, heated front seats, Light and Sight interior lighting package, Artico man-made leather upholstery, DAB tuner, six-speaker 100-watt sound system, seven-inch digital cockpit display, seven-inch touchscreen media display, MBUX multimedia system, ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice activation, and Mercedes me connect which includes emergency call system, accident recovery, breakdown management, and maintenance management. Standard safety equipment includes Active Brake Assist, Active bonnet, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Attention Assist, Speed Limit Assist, and Keyless-Go locking and unlocking.

AMG Line trim adds 19-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, AMG bodystyling, privacy glass, Artico man-made leather, and Dinamica microfibre upholstery. Premium models come as standard with 64-colour ambient lighting, Mirror package including automatically folding exterior mirrors and automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors, Parking package including reversing camera and parking sensors, pre-installation for trailer coupling, Augmented Reality Navigation, 10.25-inch infotainment display, 10.25-inch digital cockpit display, 10-speaker 225-watt sound system, smartphone integration, and wireless charging. Range-topping GLB AMG Line Premium Plus models get Multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, panoramic sunroof, Driving Assistance pack, and Traffic Sign Assist.
