The iconic Honda Civic Type R has been immortalised in LEGO form.

A nine-strong team led by LEGO Certified Professional Ryan McNaught took 1,300 hours and 320,000 LEGO bricks to build the life-size Civic Type R for an Australian TV show.

Although strengthened by steel supports and glue, the model was produced using stock standard LEGO pieces only, and even boasts working headlights, DRLs, fog light, hazard lights, brake lights, and reversing lights.  Constructed layer-by-layer from the ground up, the model includes delicate details such as windscreen wipers and floating rear spoiler.

“We’ve loved the challenge of this project”, explained Mr McNaught.

“The car is shaped with a considerable amount of curved lines, making it a tough but interesting build. From the working lights and indicators to intricate LEGO Honda logos, the detail on the model has been a fun one for us to work on”.
