Lewis Hamilton is to follow in the footsteps of Michael Schumacher by appearing in Disney Pixar’s animated feature film Cars 2.
Schumacher appeared in the popular 2006 Cars movie as a Ferrari F430, and now Hamilton has revealed on his twitter page that he is to follow suit in the sequel.
“Hey guys, big news -- I'm going to be in Disney Pixar's Cars2! Take a look at my car... This is wicked;)”, tweeted Hamilton.
The McLaren F1 star will voice a character called Hamilton, a McLaren MP4-12C who competes against lead character Lightning McQueen in the first ever World Grand Prix.
Hollywood star Owen Wilson returns as the voice of Lightning McQueen in this John Lasseter directed sequel, but the US setting of the first film now includes Japan and Europe.
The movie is released in cinemas in July, and will also be available in 3D.
