Land Rover has revealed a new, upgraded Freelander range, designed to boost the model's desirability ahead of its replacement by the new Discovery Sport next year.
A new top-of-the-range Metropolis model will head the new line-up, replacing the existing HSE model, with Land Rover claiming that the new car is "the most luxurious and desirable Freelander yet".
The new car builds on the equipment included in the existing HSE Lux model, adding electrically-adjustable front seats upholstered in Windsor leather, touchscreen sat-nav, an 825W surround sound system, panoramic sunroof and 19-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels. Xenon headlights with LED daytime-running lights, a heated steering wheel, luxury carpet mats, a reversing camera and metallic paint are also included.
Further down the range, the old GS and XS trims will be replaced by new SE and SE Tech models. The entry-level SE Tech also adds a heated front windscreen, front fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels and front and centre armrests.
Prices for the new Freelander start from £27,765 for the SE, rising to £25,995 for the Metropolis. The first models will go on sale in June.
