Petrolhead fans of the new 200mph-capable Jaguar F-Type SVR now have the opportunity to experience a flying lap of the infamous Nurburgring with the launch of the Jaguar Co-Pilot Nordschleife programme.

For a €295 fee visitors can experience the thrill of a passenger ride around the 12.94-mile ‘Green Hell’ in the fastest series production Jaguar ever, the first examples of which will soon be delivered to their new owners. Jaguar estimate that a single lap of the legendary Nurburgring track imposes almost ten times the amount of stress on the F-Type SVR’s chassis and drivetrain as a normal road.

The 567bhp 5.0-litre V8-powered supercar does 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds, and to ensure the safety of the ‘Co-Pilot’ the example used for the programme has been fitted with a roll cage, Recaro Racing seats, and race harnesses, while each participant will be equipped with a race suit, helmet, and Head and Neck Support system as well as being given a safety briefing before getting in the car. An on-board camera will record the lap for posterity.

The Jaguar Co-Pilot Nordschlefie Programme runs for 16 weekend dates between now and the end of October, and places can be booked by visiting http://www.nuerburgring-shop.de/fahraction/co-pilot-fahrten.html.

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicles Operations Director Mark Stanton said:  “The weather at the Nürburgring is famed for being unpredictable and the new Jaguar F-TYPE SVR is the perfect car to tackle the undulating track in variable conditions. Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division has engineered the F-TYPE SVR to be lighter, faster and more powerful while still remaining a usable supercar every day. The Nordschleife is a fantastic circuit on which to experience all of the engineering enhancements my team has applied to the F-TYPE SVR.”
