Honda have unveiled their plans for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, which they will be using to showcase a raft of new models.

The Japanese manufacturer has scheduled an overhaul of its entire range over the course of 2015, and the Geneva Motor Show at the start of March will see a number of new production models appear in public for the first time.

Amongst the new models to have their place confirmed on the Honda exhibition stand include the first showing of the new British-built Honda Civic Type R. Honda claim it will be the most ‘extreme’ Civic Type R to date, and the new model will be the first Honda to utilise the new 2.0-litre VTEC Turbo engine. The new hot-hatch will also benefit from a programme of pioneering chassis technology, with the manufacturer referring to it as a ‘race car for the road’.

The new Honda NSX will also be making its European debut in production form, with the hybrid supercar having made its global debut at the Detroit Auto Show.

Production models of the all-new Honda HR-V and Honda Jazz will both make their first public appearance in Switzerland, with market launches for both models planned for later this year. The HR-V is a crossover model which blends sporty, coupe styling, with toughness and space, with Honda hoping the new 2015 model will make the same striking impression the original HR-V made when it was launched back in 1998. Meanwhile, the third-generation Honda Jazz has undergone a complete redesign, and also gains a brand new 1.3-litre petrol engine.

In addition to these new production models, the Honda stand will also feature Honda’s FCV Concept. The zero-emissions fuel-cell vehicle has an anticipated driving range of over 300 miles with a refuelling time reduced to under five minutes. Also in Geneva will be the 2015 McLaren-Honda F1 car, which sees McLaren and Honda rekindling a relationship which saw them win four Formula One Constructors’ World Championships in a row between 1988 and 1991.

The Geneva Motor Show begins on 3rd March.
