A “hero” daughter miraculously rescued her father by lifting a Jeep from on top of his leg with her bare hands.
Adam Simmons, from Boston, was repairing the brakes on his daughter’s Jeep Liberty when the jacks keeping it aloft collapsed. Consequently one of the axels landed on his leg, trapping him.
His daughter, Rachel Simmons, 22, heard her father screaming for help and ran to save him – this was no routine rescue though, considering that the Jeep weighs a whopping 2,500kg.
Ms Simmons proceeded to lift the 4x4 with just her bare hands however, freeing her father. She says she doesn’t know how she managed to lift the huge car from his leg, and added: "I ran out of the house and I saw him under my car. So I just went and lifted under the wheel arch to set him free".
Paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed Mr Simmons to hospital where X-rays confirmed he had made a lucky escape, coming away with no more than a few cuts and bruises.
He has labelled his daughter a “hero” and says it is still unclear just how she managed to muster the strength to lift a Jeep. Of the accident, he said: "All of a sudden, it collapsed towards me, landed on my leg, pinning me right to the ground."
Ms Simmons told how she was just happy that her dad was not seriously injured.
