Ford has created a one-off Transit SuperSportVan, featuring Transit’s biggest ever diesel engine fitted into a short wheelbase model.
The engine delivers 348 lb-ft of torque at 1700 – 2500 rpm and uses a 6-speed transmission.
Exterior features for all SportVans include twin exhausts, alloy wheels, front and rear low spoilers and extended wheel arches. Also as standard are power deadlocks, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, front fog lights and a load area protection kit.
Optional interior features include satellite navigation and leather seats.
Ford Britain’s commercial vehicles director, Steve Clary, had this to say: "Transit has a strong reputation for its robustness and practicality. We wanted to add some contemporary fun and also showcase our engineers' skill and enthusiasm. SuperSportVan demonstrates just how far you can go with a white Transit van by mixing and matching regular technology in a different way."
Production will be limited to a single SuperSportVan.
