The owner of a £135,000 Ferrari F430 has paid for his car to be given the ultimate luxury treatment by having it wrapped in leather.

Dissatisfied with the car's standard paint finish, the anonymous client based in the South of France paid Latvian car customisation experts Dartz to wrap his car in peeled cows.

It took the staff at Dartz 16 days to apply the leather and the company would not comment on exactly how it was achieved.

Dartz are specialists in armoured vehicles and have provided cars for Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky and Tsar Nicholas II. Not the best track record in the world.

When it comes to working with exotic materials, Dartz have got plenty of experience. They have previously built a £1m armoured vehicle with seats made out of... whale foreskin.

We think we'd have preferred alcantara.
