Land Rover is adding a Convertible version of the Range Rover Evoque to its range, which it says will be the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible.
The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible is a versatile four seater based on the design of the original Range Rover Evoque. The company is forecasting the worldwide SUV market to grow by a fifth over the next five years, and expect the UK-built Evoque Convertible to help keep them one step ahead of their sector rivals.
The Evoque Convertible boast a z-folding fabric roof which lays flush with the rear bodywork, complimented the sleek lines of the Evoque. It stows flat in just 18 seconds, and can be raised in just 21 seconds at speeds of up to 30mph. The model is still capable of stowing 251 litres of luggage in the boot, and inside the cabin is an all-new, high-resolution 10.2-inch touchscreen with Jaguar Land Rover’s next-generation infotainment system, InControl Touch Pro. A Roll-Over Protection system deploys two aluminium bars in just 90 milliseconds. A 2.0-litre Ingenium Diesel engine offers up to 55mpg, with CO2 emissions as low as 149g/km.
The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible will go on sale in the Spring. Prices start from £47,500 for the Evoque Convertible TD4 HSE Dynamic model.
