Tesla have revealed the design and specification for their latest electric car.
The California based company will name their latest venture the Tesla Model 3 and plan for it to be available to purchase in 2017. It is the latest move in an electric market which seems to be currently exploding with new advances and releases.
Tesla have received some criticism for the high cost of their vehicles so the Model III will aim to be more accessible to the mainstream market; it will go on sale for roughly £30,000 in the UK and $35,000 in 2017. Apparently it will be 20% smaller than previous models and will have an impressive range of 200 miles.
CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk had grand plans to name this latest model the ‘E’ which would mean he had a range of vehicles spelling out the word ‘sex’ with the ‘S’, ‘E’ and ‘X’ but Ford beat him to it and released the ‘Model E’ themselves.
'We were going to call it model E for a while and then Ford sued us saying it wanted to use the Model E,’ Musk was disappointed to report.
‘I thought this is crazy, Ford’s trying to kill sex! So we’ll have to think of another name.’
