The Duster 4x4 has been dubbed 'shockingly affordable' with prices starting as low as £8,995.
The Duster has met with huge success internationally, so much so that Dacia has not had the time to begin production of a right-hand drive variant. However, the Renault-Nissan Alliance factory based in Chennai has stepped up to the plate, and will be producing a RHD Duster for UK roads by the end of 2012 with first deliveries beginning in January 2013.
The UK Duster will also benefit from an improved interior and a facelifted exterior. Customers will be given the choice of three different trim levels, Access, Ambiance and Lauréate, as well as the choice of two different engines, a 1.6 105 bhp petrol or a 1.5 110 bhp diesel.
The flagship of the Duster Range, the Lauréate, offers the most in the way of luxury including 16" alloy wheels, electric windows and air conditioning. The Lauréate has done well in Europe and is expected to be the best seller in the UK with a price tag of between £12,995 and £14,995.
Dacia keeps the Duster's prices so low by relentlessly focusing on simplicity, meaning fewer options for the customer. However, Dacia does offer its customers the chance to customise their cars with the choice of four different accessory packs entitled Adventurer, Styling, Protection and Touring.
The Adventurer pack is the cheapest at £445 offering wheel arch protectors and door sill protective mouldings. The Touring, at £555, comes with transversal roof bars, a towbar and a front centre armrest. The Protection, at £575, includes an alarm, mudguards, bootliner, tailgate protection and rear parking sensors. Finally there is the Styling pack which brings a chrome exhaust tailpipe, chrome front bars and daytime running lights for £655.
Without the customisation packs, the prices are as follows:
