It would be an understatement to say that we're not huge fans of automotive 'teaser' images and videos here at CarSite. Okay, so we understand that they fulfil an important role in the marketing process when a new model goes into production, but every time a manufacturer 'teases' a new product, we're filled with a sudden desire to shout: "Just show us the bloody car!"
Virtually every single manufacturer is guilty of this; however, today it's BMW's turn to raise our collective blood pressures with what can only be described as a breathtakingly pointless video.
In it we see a man with glasses using a laptop computer with a very serious expression on his face. We wonder what website he's looking at...

In fairness, the video is enlivened somewhat by its soundtrack -- the deep growl of the turbocharged straight-six which will drive the rear wheels of the new M4. We hear it burbling away menacingly before the car drives off, with laptop man looking on in the background.
If watching 18 seconds of a man on a laptop isn't your idea of fun then we're sorry. We wouldn't normally waste your Tuesday afternoon with this sort of thing; however, as the M4 is the somewhat controversial replacement for the old 3 Series Coupe and promises to be one of the finest cars in the world when it comes out, we thought it was worthy of mention.
Details of the new car are disappointingly scarce but needless to say we'll keep you updated as and when more information becomes available.
In the meantime, click on the image below to watch laptop man's furrowed brow and listen to guttural grumble of the new M4...
