Following the success of the BMW 1 Series M Coupé, BMW are introducing the first BMW M2, the latest model from the prestigious BMW Motorsport division.
This addition to the M range benefits from all of the power and performance that you would expect from a BMW M model, condensed into the BMW 2 Series chassis.
The chassis, combined with a six cylinder, 3.0 litre, BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, allows for an agile and dynamic ride. Not to mention fast. It is of course very, very fast – achieving 0–62 mph in just 4.3 seconds with the M DCT gearbox (4.5 seconds with standard manual gearbox).
Until now the M3 has been the entry level model in BMW's M car line-up. Priced at around £44,000 (over £12,000 cheaper than the M3) the M2 will be a welcome - and no doubt popular - addition.
BMW have described the new M2 as "Unmistakably, unequivocally, undeniably M" and we want one.
