Small MPVs have a tough job to do. They need to be both practical and spacious like their larger counterparts, while offering some of the manoeuvrability and agility of a smaller hatchback.

The winner of the award for the Best Small MPV will therefore blend the best attributes of both types of car.

Take a look at our shortlist for the award of Best Small MPV.

Citroen C3 Picasso

Citroen C3 Picasso

The Citroen C3 Picasso is a quirky but practical people carrier, offering plenty of interior space and practicality with a dash of Gallic charm. It's also a very easy car to get along with thanks to its comfortable ride, excellent engines and classy interior. It should be cheap to run, too.

Ford B-MAX

Ford B-MAX

The B-MAX's lack of B-pillars might be a bit of a gimmick, but they go some way to making the B-MAX one of the most practical cars in its class. The B-MAX is a genuinely impressive car thanks to its spacious interior, sharp handling and good looks. There is also an excellent range of engines to choose from, making the B-MAX a tempting choice.

Vauxhall Zafira Tourer

Vauxhall Meriva

Suicide doors might sound scary but they make getting in and out of the Meriva an absolute breeze. The Meriva is an extremely practical, versatile and innovative MPV with some good engines, a comfortable ride and impressive refinement.
