The all-new Vauxhall Astra will hit UK showrooms next month priced from £15,295.
After making its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month the all-new Astra will, hope Vauxhall, go on to emulate the sales success of its predecessors which found almost three million UK buyers since the original model launched 36 years ago. Going head-to-head with the Ford Focus and the Volkswagen Golf, the all-new Astra is expected to remain a popular choice for both retail and business buyers alike.
The all-new Astra will be built at Vauxhall's Ellesmere Port plant using the latest lightweight vehicle production techniques. Weight saving measures see the new model tip the scales at up to 200kg lighter than the outgoing model, with the body shell weight alone reduced by 20%. Using high-strength and ultra-high-strength low-weight steel has cut a further 50kg from the chassis weight.
An engine portfolio of both petrol and diesel power at launch includes an all-new 1.4-litre ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo as well as the recently introduced 1.6-litre CDTi Whisper Diesel engine.
The all-new Astra is also the first to include OnStar, Vauxhall's cutting edge connectivity system which boasts emergency response notification and stolen vehicle recovery alert. In addition, the all-new Astra's Intellilink infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
