Gangster Al Capone's 1928 Cadillac is going up for auction next month for £325,000.

The Cadillac V8 Town Sedan is fitted with over a tonne of steel armour and was painted green to mimic a police car of the time, with flashing lights, a siren and a police-band radio receiver.

What's more, not only were the windows bulletproof, they also had holes in them through which Capone's henchmen could fire their machine guns.

Despite his supposed involvement in the St Valentine's Day Massacre, Capone was eventually jailed for tax evasion; so it's ironic that the massive gas-guzzling Caddy is tax exempt.

After Capone was jailed in 1931, the Cadillac was also used by president Franklin D Roosevelt.

Capone's car will go under the hammer in Monterey, California, in August.
