Background

The Vauxhall Insignia was first produced in 2008 making it a relatively new car; it was created to replace the Vauxhall Vectra. The Insignia was received well in the European market and was voted as the 2009 European Car of the Year.

In 2009 a high performance version of the Insignia was produced known as the Insignia OPC.

Since its release, more engines have also become available to the Insignia. In 2010 the 2.0 CDTi Diesel was made available with Adaptive 4x4 and another new engine is expected to go into production in 2012.
