Description
Brewster Green, The second car built by renowned Bentley Special Builder, Harry Rose in 1969, and used for much of his promotional purposes during the 1970,s. Owned by his daughter Ann Shoosmith, and campaigned in many BDC events, taking the famous victory at Donnington Park in July 1977. Fitted with a Bentley S1 4.9 Straight Six engine, gas flowed cylinder head with enlarged ports, force fed by a Garret AR Turbocharger, mated to a 4 speed Bentley manual gearbox, driven by a Salisbury rear axle with Power Lok Differential. Weighing in at around only 26 CWT makes for a highly exhilarating "seat of the pants" drive, complimented by a great exhaust note. A major rebuild and restoration was commissioned by the last owner during 2014 by world renowned Peteresen Engineering in Devon, amounting to a spend of around £112,000 excluding VAT. This amounted to an examination and refresh of many mechanical components including turbo renewal, complete body and interior renewal, brakes upgraded and renewed, steering overhauled, complete rewire, new wheels and tyres, new instrumentation etc, all documented and photographed. A comprehensive history file accompanies, with engineers drawings dating back to 1969 at original time of conversion by Harry Rose. Much correspondence accompanies, referring to various books and publications the car features in, historic letters from previous owners, correspondence from BDC, copies of old log books combined with the most up to date invoicing right up to 2016. All the looks, sounds and smells of a 1920,s Brooklands Racer, without the operating fuss due to the meticulous level of restoration carried out recently. May P/X, £179,950
