Despite being marketed as a separate brand, Corvette is a division of Chevrolet, itself a division of General Motors. Although the Chevy brand has begun selling rebadged Korean models in recent years, the Corvette sub-brand focusses on what made the Chevrolet name a success -- all-American sports cars.

Corvette Car Reviews
Corvette Overview
Brief History
Chevrolet was founded in 1911 by Swiss racing driver, Louis Chevrolet, and ousted founder of General Motors, William C. Durant.
The Corvette first went into production in 1953 and has since been produced in six different generations. The current model has been in production since 2005.
Model Range
C6
The C6 is the base model in the Corvette range, but don't for a second think that means it's a lightweight. You get 437bhp thanks to its 6.2-litre V8 and 62mph arrives in less than five seconds. A proper American bruiser.
Z06
Moving up the pecking order, the Z06 comes with a 512bhp 7.0-litre V8. This means 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 198mph. It also means less than 20mpg, but if you're buying a muscle car, fuel consumption should be the least of your worries.
ZR1
The top-of-the-line 'Vette is the race-bred ZR1. It comes with a 6.2-litre V8 -- smaller than the engine in the Z06 -- but it churns out 647bhp, making it the most powerful car here. 62mph arrives in 3.9 seconds and flat out you'll be doing 205mph.
