Description
1937 AUSTIN SEVEN PEARL CABRIOLETFinished in deep Austin black with blue leather trim. This car formed part of the Rarey collection for many years. This pearl cabriolet has been the subject of a photographed restoration in the late 1990s. It has been dry stored since 2008 apart from appearing in an episode of the TV Series Midsomer Murders on 6th august 2010. Photographs of the car on the set are included in the folder. The pearl cabriolet is based on the Austin Ruby Saloon and it is a car for the person who desires both the qualities and strength of a Saloon with the open top thrill of a cabriolet. The drive chain is that of a Ruby Saloon with 747cc side valve engine and four speed gearbox. It is MoT and tax exempt and would be a rare exhibit at shows or rallies or to enhance an Austin Seven collection. Much has been written about this diminutive Seven which provided certain levels of transport in various shapes and sizes for over several years. The vehicle had enough room to carry 4 passengers and their luggage with ease and comfort. The speedo reading of 70,000 miles is believed to be correct and the features include chrome headlights and sidelights, opening windscreen, leather trim, wire wheels and is sold with the valuable registration number of DLO 410 which is transferable. The history folder includes current and previous V5s including the original buff coloured registration document confirming that the vehicle has had 6 previous owners in its 80 years lifetime, original AA key and keyholder, photographic record of the car as found and during restoration, photos of the car at various shows, DVLA documentation, previous road tax discs, various invoices, insurance paperwork and wiring diagrams. This charming little Motorcar is in good condition throughout but would benefit from an appreciative home and some TLC.
