Volkswagen has announced the launch of a new £20 Winter Health Check to help its customers ensure their vehicles are set for the onslaught of the potentially freezing weeks and months ahead.

Available at Volkswagen retailers, the offer will see trained technicians check the battery, oil, coolant, and washer fluid levels, topping them up if required. This is followed by a 34-point Express Visual Check where the technician will examine all wear and tear items on the vehicle and report any issues that need to be addressed. This will be reported using a traffic light style system where green indicates full working order, yellow means safe and legal but may require future attention, while red highlights items requirement immediate remedy.

Before leaving the retailer, the car will be treated to a wash and vacuum.

A similar programme conducted Volkswagen last winter saw them help more than 2,500 customers ensure their vehicles were prepared for the challenging conditions.
