Volkswagen has unveiled a new, facelifted version of its Touareg SUV ahead of the car's debut at the Beijing Motor Show later this week.
The new Touareg benefits from a range of exterior styling tweaks, new features and improved fuel efficiency.
At the front, the Touareg now features larger bi-xenon headlights across the range, a deeper radiator grille with four, instead of two, horizontal fins and a new bumper design. There's also a redesigned bumper at the back, along with a new rear diffuser, twin tailpipes and LED rear fog lights. New door mirror caps, new wheel designs and new paint colours complete the exterior transformation.
Inside, Volkswagen has added new colours for the leather upholstery, new design accents and new lighting.
All engines are now EU6 compliant thanks to a range of efficiency measures, including the fitment of low-rolling resistance tyres, stop-start and battery regeneration systems as standard. The entry-level 201bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel now returns 42.8mpg on the combined cycle while emitting 174g/km of CO2, while the 254bhp version returns 41.5mpg and 178g/km.
All Touaregs will also come with a post-collision braking system and a coasting function built into the eight-speed automatic gearbox, which uses the kinetic energy of the car, rather than the engine, to provide momentum when the driver lifts off the accelerator.
Order books for the new Touareg will open in August ahead of the first deliveries in November. More details will be revealed closer to the time.
