Vauxhall have launched a major onslaught on the new car market ahead of next month's new 11-plate registration change.

The manufacturer has launched four new products now available to order with 11-plate registrations - the new Antara and Corsa, the Astra ES Tech, and the VXR8 - with the timing designed to take advantage of the number plate change on 1st March.

The new Antara has received an external facelift and revised interior, along with an improved engine over the existing model. Now available to order, prices for the new Antara start at £19,995 for the 161bhp, 2.2-litre CDTi Exclusiv front-wheel drive model.

The Corsa range has received an external makeover to add to the technical overhaul it was given last year, notably with front-end styling tweaks to update the look of the model. For the 11-plate models Vauxhall have given the Corsa a new lick of paint, with new colour options including pearlescent Lime Green, metallic Chilli Orange, and Guacamole. Vauxhall are hoping this will give another sales boost to the Corsa range, which now includes eight models eligible for the Greener Vehicle Discount introduced in London last month, which exempts vehicles emitting 100g/km of CO2 from paying the Congestion Charge.

Vauxhall have also launched a new addition to the Astra range, called the ES Tech. The manufacturer has announced that prices for the new Astra ES Tech will begin at £18,110 for the 138bhp, 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol powered model. It has 17-inch alloy wheels, Satnav, Bluetooth, DAB radio and air-conditioning as standard. A diesel option comes in the form of the 124bhp, 1.7 CDTi.  Part of Vauxhall's ecoFLEX range, this diesel model emits under 120g/km of CO2, and is available in the Astra ES Tech for £19,530.

Completing the new offerings from Vauxhall is a new version of its VXR8 muscle car, now with 425bhp from its V8 engine. The rear-wheel drive saloon has been given revised styling both front and rear, as well as a new cabin and interior. The new VXR8 is available to order now from six specialist VXR dealerships in the UK, with a £49,500 price tag.
