Vauxhall has released the first official photographs of its most powerful Corsa ever, ahead of its sale launch in late May.
Called the Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition, the standard VXR's 1.6-litre turbo has been re-engineered to produce 202bhp and a maximum torque output of 206 lb-ft. It has a 6.5 second 0-60mph time and a top speed of 143mph. The modifications include a new turbocharger and engine management system, sports exhaust, and 98-octane fuel compatibility.
The power is harnessed by a limited-slip differential to maximise traction and combat understeer, and sporty handling is aided by a lowered ride height, Bilstein springs and dampers, and ultra-light Brembo brakes. The modifications have necessitated new settings for the Corsa VXR's ABS, Traction Control, and Electronic Stability Control systems.
The photographs released by Vauxhall of the car undergoing its final shake-down on the Nürburgring's fearsome Nordschleife show the Henna Red colour scheme which, along with 'Grasshopper' apple green, is one of two new paint jobs available. Other visual marks of the Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition are its stainless steel dual exhaust, high-gloss forged aluminium wheels, and Nürburgring logos on the B-Pillars and front spoiler.
The Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition has a price tag of £22,295
