Skoda to unveil electric vision of the future | Concept - Car News Mar 2017

Skoda has announced plans to show it first ever electric concept model at the Shanghai Motor Show.

The Skoda VISION E is designed to give an insight into the future direction of the company, with Skoda aiming to release a plug-in hybrid model within two years and have five electric vehicles on the market by 2025.

The VISION E is a five-door SUV coupe with a pure electric range of over 300 miles and has level 3 autonomous driving capability. A 225 kW system output gives the VISION E instant acceleration and a top speed of 112mph. The twin electric motors are intelligently managed to deliver power to the front and rear wheel for optimum stability. It can operate independently in traffic jams, on autopilot in motorway driving, stay in lane, overtake, and park itself, in line with forecasts that 15% of all new cars will be autonomous by 2030.

The Skoda VISION E will concept will debut at the Shanghai Motor Show from 19-28 April.
