Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have revealed that they have begun testing the all-new aluminium space-frame technology which will underpin all its products from early 2018 onwards.

The company first announced the move towards all-new aluminium space-frame design early last year. Now its engineers have started to put the test models through their paces on public roads to ensure the new space-frame structure is able to deliver the ‘magic-carpet’ ride quality synonymous to the luxury car maker, as well as analysing its resilience to extreme weather conditions.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO said: “Since 2003 and the commissioning of the new Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has reset the benchmark for luxury motoring. Now it is time to take the next step in the luxury journey. This is why I am announcing today that on-road testing of our all-new proprietary architecture is beginning. This new architecture of pure luxury represents considerable investment in the future of our great brand.”
