Renault have replicated last year’s impressive success, with a triple win in the hot hatch category of the What Car? Awards for the second year running.

Despite many of Renault's competitors fielding new and revised models, the French firm still walked away with wins in every one of the three Hot Hatch price categories at the What Car? Awards 2011.

At the top of the range, in the £20k and over price category, Renault's flagship performance car the Mégane Renaultsport 250 Cup held off strong competition to win the 'Best Hot Hatch' title for the second year in a row. Meanwhile in the £15,000 - £20,000 category the Clio Renaultsport 200 Cup won its second title, and in the under £15,000 category the Twingo Renaultsport 133 Cup took home the award.

The Editor in Chief of What Car? Magazine, Steve Fowler, commented on the historic second triple win, saying:

"This is the second year running that Renault has dominated the hot hatch category at our Awards and the second year running that the Mégane Renaultsport 250 Cup has won our Best Hot Hatch Award. Renault clearly knows a thing or two about putting smiles on our faces with a range of thrilling hot hatches that are great fun and well priced. The best of the bunch, the Mégane, has that rare blend of talents that make it a true hot hatch great."

Thierry Sybord, the Managing Director of Renault UK, received the awards on behalf of the company, saying:

"I'm honoured to be accepting this latest award for our performance division, Renaultsport. They have worked tirelessly in recent years to hone every aspect of the driving experience in each of our hot hatches and I'm delighted that their efforts continue to be acknowledged by our customers, the media and prestigious awards such as these."
