Sex workers have come under fire in New Zealand this week after local officials claimed they have bent and broken forty road signs by dancing on them.

A booklet endorsed by the mayor of the town of Papatoetoe claims that local prostitutes are to blame for serious damage to more than forty road signs over the last 18 months.

The booklet also calls for a crackdown on the street sex trade, and lawmakers are considering giving councils the power to ban prostitutes from working in certain areas.

Apparently, the Kiwi hookers dance around street signs to attract business. Business district manager Donna Lee said, "The poles are part of their soliciting equipment and they often snap them. Some of the prostitutes are big, strong people."
