The new Volkswagen Caddy panel van will go on UK sale priced from £13,500 + VAT the manufacturer has confirmed.
Entry level in the fourth generation Volkswagen Caddy range is the C20 Startline 2.0-litre TDI short wheelbase model, which comes equipped with electric windows, heated electric door mirrors, five-inch touchscreen Composition Colour DAB radio, BlueTooth, locking glovebox, drive and passenger front, side, and curtain airbags, and a new post-collision braking system.
There are three trim levels in total – Startline, Trendline, and Highline – and a choice of two wheelbase lengths. The Trendline models start from £15,670 and add full wheel covers, body-coloured bumpers, handles, and door mirrors, rear parking sensor, cruise control, multi-function display, driver’s seat lumbar support, under-seat storage, and sun visors with vanity mirrors. Starting from £16,650, the top-of-the-range Highline gains alloy wheels, front fog lights with daytime running lights, climatic air conditioning, heated front windscreen, automatic dimming rear-view mirror, Thatcham Cat 1 alarm and windscreen wipers with intermittent control and rain sensor.
A new Euro 6 emissions compliant 2.0-litre diesel power plant joins the existing range of engines, while there is a choice between five or six-speed manual gearboxes or a DSG automatic transmission available in six or seven-speed.
Volkswagen BlueMotion Technology, such as start/stop and battery regeneration can be added to improve efficiency, with the new Euro 6 compliant capable of up to 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 114g/km.
Park Assist and a rear-view reversing camera are available, as well as High Beam Assist and Driver Alert systems, and customers will also be able to specify Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Braking.
Available to order now, the new Caddy panel van also paves the way for a new passenger-carrying version, which will have pricing and specification confirmed next month.
