Volkswagen have announced the introduction of a new entry level model to its popular Polo range.

At £11,300, the entry level Volkswagen Polo Match is cheaper than the Polo SE and Polo Moda models which it replaces. The new lowest priced model in the Polo range is a 3-door hatch powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, producing just under 60bhp and with CO2 emissions of 128g/km.

The new Polo Match retains most of the features found in the SE and Moda, but now also includes 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, and heat-insulating tinted rear windows. Inside the cabin you will find, as standard, air conditioning, CD player, multifunction computer and multi device interface with iPod connectivity.

Safety equipment on the new Polo Match includes four airbags, ABS, and an electronic stability programme.

The new Polo Match has three engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol, an 84bhp 1.4-litre petrol, and a 74bhp 1.2-litre diesel.  It comes in either 3 or 5-door versions, and is fitted as standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox, although a 7-speed DSG option can be chosen with the 1.4-litre petrol powered models.

Prices rise through the range to £14,140 for the 5-door Polo Match 1.2-litre TDI. As an added incentive, if bought new with a Solutions PCP package, Volkswagen will include one year's free insurance and three years or 30,000 miles of free servicing.

The new Volkswagen Polo Match is available now.
