Hyundai has released drawings showing the new Hyundai i30 ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
It will go up against established names in the small hatchback market such as the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and VW Golf and will almost certainly get Hyundai’s excellent five-year unlimited warranty.
The original i30 was a huge sales success for the company and the first car Hyundai designed and built in Europe and the new i30 looks set to build on that success and provide a serious threat to European-dominated C segment.
The new car certainly looks very European and follows Hyundai’s new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design philosophy. Although it is perhaps a little anonymous-looking, it is smart and modern and should win new fans.
Engines are likely to be similar to the units already on offer in the i40, however no specific details have been released yet. What is certain is that the car will be reasonably priced and have good equipment levels.
