A new entry-level 1.4 litre Sport model has been added to the UK-built Honda Civic range.
Priced from £18,360 on-the-road, the i-VTEC Civic Sport will be powered by Honda’s latest 99bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine. The Civic Sport boasts colour-coded rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels, and borrows the lower grille mesh and black roof lining from the Civic Type R. The new model goes on sale from next month.
With the current Civic due to be superceded by a new generation from the start of next year, Honda has been revising its UK line up for 2016 and the Sport models will become the new entry level beneath SE and SR trim levels.
Philip Crossman, Managing Director at Honda UK, commented: “The addition of the 1.4-litre petrol engine version of the Sport strengthens our Civic family line up and makes the more aggressively styled version of our popular family hatchback more accessible. The smaller engine makes the Civic Sport more economical and more efficient and therefore a much more attractive proposition.”
