The new Mercedes-Benz X-Class has gone on sale priced from £27,310.

As standard, all Mercedes-Benz X-Class UK examples of the pickup are doublecab, and feature 4MATIC selectable all-wheel drive and low-range, as well as drive selection mode, double wishbone front suspension, and multi-link rear suspension.

There are three trim levels available at launch – PURE, PROGRESSIVE, and POWER – designed to cater for the full spectrum of pickup buyer. Two engines are available, both 4-cylinder 2.3-litre diesels, offering 163bhp and 190bhp respectively.

Standard features of the X-Class includes driver and passenger airbags and thorax bags, window bags on the A-D pillar, driver knee bag, Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Hill Start Assist, Reversing Camera, Anti-theft protection package, ECO start/stop function, and Electronic Stability Programme.

Entry-level PURE models are available with six-speed manual transmission and 163bhp form only.  The PURE trim comes with integrated rear bumper step, halogen headlights,17-inch steel wheels, and matt black finished radiator grille.  Inside is a manually adjustable driver and passenger seat with Tunja black fabric upholstery, large centre console storage compartment incorporating an armrest and cupholder, semi-automatic air-conditioning, and high gloss black details.

Mid-level PROGRESSIVE models come with the option of the 190bhp engine, and gain painted bumpers with a simulated under guard in matt black, aluminium door sills featuring ‘Mercedes-Benz’ lettering, chrome door handles, load securing rail system, heated exterior mirrors, a radiator grille with iridium silver matt finish, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside is a black fabric upholstery, aluminium trim, automatic dimming interior mirror with integrated compass function, illuminated sun visors, front footwell lighting, exit lamps, and chrome air vents.

POWER models have the 190bhp engine and the option of seven-speed automatic transmission. They come with painted bumpers with simulated under guard in chrome, a rear bumper in chrome with integrated step, fog lights with chrome surround, shoulder line trim strips in chrome, LED high-performance headlights with cleaning system, LED tail lights, electrically folding exterior mirrors, KEYLESS GO, and 18-inch alloys. Inside, the POWER specification boasts eight-way electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats, ARTICO leather and DINAMICA microfiber upholstery, ARTICO leather dashboard with topstitching, and black high-gloss interior trim accents.

All three models have the Audio 20 CD infotainment system with seven-inch high definition screen, rotary controller with touchpad, Bluetooth audio and media interface, DAB digital radio, and Mercedes me Connect standard services, including call automatic emergency response, breakdown and maintenance management.

The X-Class is sold exclusively via the Mercedes-Benz Vans nationwide dealer network, where full information on specification and the range of option packages is available. Customer deliveries are expected to commence in January.
