Kia Motors UK are celebrating their best ever start to a year after selling over 7,500 cars last month.

With 7,661 units sold this January, Kia’s sales are up by a whopping 51% compared to the same period in 2016, lifting Kia up to eighth in the UK sales charts.

The Sportage model played a large part in Kia’s success last month, and with 3,063 examples sold the SUV has re-entered the UK’s Top Ten best-seller charts.

“Our special SUV event saw demand for all our multi-purpose models such as Sportage, Sorento, Niro and Soul increase and this has given us a very positive start to 2017”, said Kia’s UK chief Paul Philpott.

“We still expect some challenges this year – not least when the VED regulations change in April, but this level of demand shows our customers recognise the style, quality and affordability that Kia represents.”
