Champagne corks are popping at British-based carmaker Jaguar Land Rover as the company celebrates its best ever April sales figures.

With 41,341 vehicles sold, April 2016 was up by 11% on the same month last year and marked the fourth consecutive record-breaking month for Jaguar Land Rover. With 200,154 Jaguar Land Rover vehicles sold since the turn of the year, sales are up by almost a quarter, with the domestic UK market the biggest area for growth.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport was April’s best seller with 9,422 sold, closely followed by the Range Rover Evoque with 8,293. The Jaguar brand enjoyed its best April for a decade, with the recently-launched Jaguar F-PACE selling over 1,500 units to become the fastest selling Jaguar ever.

Commenting on the performance, Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said: “This is a positive start to our second quarter sales and continues the growth trend seen in the first three months of the year. Sales of the Jaguar XE remain solid across many of our key markets and we look forward to its start of sales in America next month. Furthermore, response to the new Jaguar F-PACE in its first full month of sales has been extremely positive. We are also seeing the progressive impact of the all-new Discovery Sport, with approaching 44,000 cars sold in the first four months of this year."
