The electric Jaguar I-PACE is on course for its debut as a production model early next year after completing the final stage of testing.

Since being introduced as a concept at the LA Auto Show a year ago, the I-PACE has been subjected to vigorous testing, returning to California this week for its final range and durability tests. The I-PACE production prototype drove 200 miles from Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, to Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, on a single charge of its advanced Lithium-Ion battery.

Order books for the electric SUV open in March, and already there have been thousands of visits to the manufacturer’s website by people pressing the ‘I want one’ button to register interest, or to place a deposit.

Full specification and pricing for Jaguar's electric performance SUV will be announced in March 2018 when order books will officially open.
