A new study by Skoda has revealed the influence that the families of company car drivers have when it comes to selecting their vehicles.
When it comes to choosing a new company car some 39% of men consulted their partners before anyone else, while the figure was even higher amongst women at 51%. Meanwhile, 15% of those surveyed said their children had an important say in vehicle selection, with family commitments seeing the average company car used for almost an hour of non-work motoring each day. Almost half use their company car for the school run, and nearly three quarters for ferrying children to social events and sports practice.
Henry Williams, Head of Fleet at Skoda UK, said: “At Skoda, we understand a company car isn’t just used for business, it’s also for home life. Our models combine cutting-edge technology and affordable company car tax rates, with features that families love – particularly spacious interiors and high levels of practicality.”
The study also found that men know best – or at least think they do – with 11% of men saying they make their choice without consulting anyone at all. Women on the other hand were far more likely to consult family, friends, and colleagues, with over a third saying they took on board as many opinions as possible before making a decision.
