An all new six-speed automatic transmission is now available on the DS 3, with the net result being smoother gear changes and reduced CO2 emissions.

Gear shifts from the new EAT6 gearbox are 40 per cent faster than from the 4-speed automatic it replaces thanks to more efficient control systems. When fitted to the new PureTech 110 S&S engine CO2 emissions fall by more than 40g/km, with improved fuel economy to boot. Hatchback models can achieve 60.1mpg combined while the Cabrio will do 57.6mpg, while emitted just 108g/km and 112g/km of CO2 respectively.

Four DS 3 models are now available with the new EAT6 transmission, with first deliveries anticipated towards the end of next month. Prices start at £17,495 for the DS 3 PureTech 110 S&S DStyle hatchback and £19,495 for the Cabrio, while the DS 3 PureTech 110 S&S DStyle Nav hatchback is priced at £18,495, while the Cabrio version comes in at £20,495.

DS Automobiles, part of PSA Group, was spun off as a premium brand last year, and quickly resulted in updates to the DS 3 model originally launched by Citroen in 2010. LED vision headlamps were added in September last year, with the THP 165 S&S engine and six-speed manual gearbox added to the range two months later.
