Land Rover has announced the publication of the definitive story of the Land Rover Defender.

The only approved book detailing the Series and Defender Land Rover models –titled ‘Icon’ – will be released this July priced at £50 (RRP).

The announcement of the book’s publication came on the 69th anniversary of the model’s debut, with the original Land Rover premiering at the Amsterdam Motor Show on 30 April 1948.  The high-quality hardback tome will boast previously unseen images, exclusive interviews, freshly commissioned artwork to chart the definitive official history of the iconic 4x4, and a foreword penned by The Grand Tour presenter and Land Rover aficionado Richard Hammond.

The collector’s item will be available via Land Rover’s online shop, and at selected showrooms and Experience Centres.
