Dacia sales since the brand was re-launched the UK two years ago have now passed the 50,000 milestone.

The 50,000th model was a Dacia Duster Laureate dCi 110 4x2 sold by Dorset-based dealer Westover Dacia to a customer part-exchanging their existing Duster.

The Dacia Sandero Stepway model has been the biggest contributor to that success with 16,834 sales, while the Duster SUV is not far behind having sold 16,541 examples. This year has been Dacia’s most successful since the Renault-owned brand returned to the UK in 2013, with year-to-date sales totalling 9,849 new cars which represents a rise of almost 12 per cent over the same period last year.

Reaching the 50,000 milestone marked a double celebration for the brand, coming as it did just days after it came fifth in the Auto Express Driver Power survey after winning plaudits from Dacia owners for running costs, practicality, inc-car technology, and servicing costs.

“When Dacia arrived in the UK it immediately struck a chord with new car buyers looking for maximum value for money”, said Dacia UK’s Brand Manager Andy Heiron.

“We are now seeing lots of repeat business from customers moving into their second or even third Dacia.”
